Trying Out New Tuner Fruit Boilies From Chapel Baits.....!

After a look at the weather the night before I decided to go to Drayton Reservoir for the day as it was going to be a good day I was looking for would to trying out some new bait I got from Evesham show at the weekend, so I set my alarm for 6 to get up and get all the stuff ready so I could go as soon as possible to get fishing for 8 when we arrived at the reservoir there was about 10 people fishing, I looked over the dam wall I realised that it was about 4ft lower then I have ever seen it so the pegs on the dam and the boards were a bit high to fish of as it would be difficult to land the fish so I had a walk around sore quite a lot of fish topping about 70 yards out so I found a reasonable peg where I could sit on the sand which would normally be under water.

Before I did anything I put about 15 20 boillies in about 70 yards out around a cone that they used for the boats so I had a reference where to cast to. I left that for about 15 minutes whilst I was setting up the rig I used was a 14mm tuner fruit boilie from chapel baits on a hair rig with a size 10 Korda kurv hook I added a small pva bag onto the rig each cast. I cast the 1st rod which was the right hand one to the right side of the cone and then the left one about 5 yards off the cone.

The wind started to pick up about 10 blowing towards the dam end it was cloudy all day but within about 20 minutes I had a couple of liners then I had nothing till I sore 2 or 3 fish topping just over my bait so I waited and within 5 minutes my right rod screamed off I picked it up to feel something that seemed like a monster after a short fight I had him in the net it looked about 17lb but when I got scales out it came to just over 15lb just as I was sorting the camera out my other rod screamed off I had this before when I was there one rod then the other within 5 minis so I had to put that one back in then grab my other road before it took all my line. The fight didn’t last long this one wasn’t as big but still gave a good fight all the way to the net, this one weighed 12lb. I did not get a photo of this one as the camera was not set up after rebating with 10 boilies I recast into the same spots with small pva bags filled with pellets. After that another 3 fish came out on at 2:45 which weighed 13lb, 4:50 this weighed just over 12lb then the last one at 5:15 the smallest of the day at 11lb, I had some liners and one take at 6:20 but I didn’t connect with anything when I went for it. But after a really nice days fishing I decided to call it a day at 7:00. I had not fished Drayton Reservoir in about a year so it was nice to go and try out the new boilies but I would defiantly recommend chapel baits tuner fruit boilies to any one fishing rivers or lakes the fish love them I will let you know how I get on when I buy a different flavour so keep a look out for new posts.
